Fundraising event for city council candidate David Miller in Wedgwood this Wednesday the 22nd.

As we found out during the Wedgwood condo project a couple of years ago, it is critical that the city actively supports our efforts to plan for Wedgwood's future growth and to help us work through controversial developments like the one that was planned for Wedgwood.

So this is why I want to let you know about an opportunity to support a candidate who is running for city council this year that would give Wedgwood this kind of support.

David Miller is the former president of the Maple Leaf Community Council and he spearheaded the efforts to help mitigate the impacts of similar development in the Maple Leaf community. I took this quote from his campaign:

David wants to Strengthen Neighborhoods - by bringing a neighborhood voice to the council, Prioritizing People - by revitalizing neighborhood business districts and make our neighborhoods safer for families, Growing Responsibly - by recommitting to the urban village strategy to prevent intra-urban sprawl and make the most of our transit investments. And David wants to Return to the Basics - it’s time to build sidewalks, improve pedestrian safety, spend prudently, and invest responsibly in our future.

But, what is critical for David's campaign now is that he needs to continue to raise funds to continue getting the word out. That's why we would like to invite you to David Miller's Fundraising Reception in Wedgwood:

Wednesday – April 22nd, 2009
6:30 pm – 8:00 pm

Thanks!

Greg

Oh yeah, and check out the list of endorsements he has received. It includes endorsements from both our very own King County Councilmember Bob Ferguson and former Seattle City Councilmember Peter Steinbrueck.
